update axis numbers in animation with blitting

DJP
In the MPL animation example animate_decay.py (https://matplotlib.org/2.0.2/examples/animation/animate_decay.html), the x-axis numbers update when the plot dynamically rescales the x-axis, but this only works properly with blitting turned off.  Is there simple a way to update the x-axis labels when blitting is turned on?

David,

Not easily, no. More importantly, if you're redrawing tick labels, you're really eliminating the performance boost blitting.
